CHA!!!!!!

We are here at CHA in Chicago and loving it. It is so fun to me around so may scrappers from all over the world! We started our experience with a day of classes from Sizzix. We made 5 different projects but I only got a picture of Karen Burniston's project! I was so into creating, I forgot! Karen's project:
Karen's BFF Gretchen came along to help her. She stole my camera and got this shot of Michelle and I creating.
On Tuesday, the shore floor opened. The line to get in wrapped around the entry way. It was crazy!!
We spent much of the day today exploring the show and seeing what goodies were out there. Simple Stories
Maya Road: I highlighted the whole catalog! Michelle walked by and caught me and said I needed to be reasonable! What a drag! Who invited her??
I then left Michelle at the Sizzix booth to create a cute box with Jill and I went to explore.
I will post more later. Must go eat and catch the bus!!

Marsha Update

Thanks to all who have brought by cards or stayed a little longer to make one. There is still room to add a few more to the basket so please take a few minutes and make a card. If you don't know how stop by Scrapp'n Savvy I have a table set up in the crop room with all the stuff needed to make a card. This up date comes from Stena, Marsha's dear friend. "I spent the afternoon at the hospital with Marha and her family. She has moved from ICU into a step-down ICU. It is a room with 4 people. It is definitely still an ICU situation. The surgeons have decided to wait until next week to do the surgery on her back. Today she started having difficulty breathing. They did X-rays to check on pneumonia. She had fluid in her lungs but was clear for pneumonia. They are giving her medication to draw the fluid down. She is still groggy and there has been no change with her legs. She does not appear to be in pain. Her sister Sharon got the police report. The driver was a 35 year old man. He was not drunk or high. They think he must have fallen asleep. Marsha was in the right hand lane stopped at the light. He was in the left hand lane and swerved into her lane at a high rate of speed. He hit her car on the back drivers side. So it was the drivers side that had the greatest impact. It caused both cars to spin out into the intersection. We do not know the condition of the driver but we do know he survived. We don't know if he was injured. He does have insurance. Sharon was able to get to her car and retrieve all of her possessions except for her large scrapbook tote. It was wedged in so tight they could not remove it. Sharon did get out all of the contents. I will repost as I get more information." Thanks Stena for keeping us all updated.

Cards for Marsha

A dear friend and talented instructor for Scrapp'n Savvy was in a severe accident Friday night going home from Scrapp'n Savvy. She was sitting at a light and was rear ended by a guy going extremely fast. She had to be cut out of the car. She is in ICU at Ben Taub right now. She broke 2 ribs, fractured a vertebra and has damage to her spleen and liver. She is responding well to the medications. Our biggest concern is the vertebra T7, because she has no feeling below the waist. This could be due to the swelling or it could be a spinal cord injury. We are asking all to include her in your prayers. We are also asking all to make a get well greeting so we can fill her room with warm good well wishes. Please bring them to Scrapp'n Savvy by Friday and we will get them to her.

Scrapp'n Sampler

Today was the first day of our Sampler.  We had a ton of fun sharing upcoming classes (to be posted on Monday) and making a fun 8"x8" Mini book.  The book is title, "My Life Today".  It was inspired by a class I took at Creative Escape a few years ago, The Good Book.  This class was taught by Kolette and her husband Jason  His story was an amazing inspiration!

I would love to extend the challenge they gave me a few years back.  To look for the "good" in your life each and everyday.

Here are pictures of the book we made today.  This project could not have been possible with the help from Bazzill and We R Memory Keepers

The cover was Designed by Tove and she teaches the class called Totally Tove.

These pages were created by Debra and she teaches DistINKtive cards.

The inside cover and title page was created by Millie and she teaches Generations and Millie"Q"

I can't wait to get my hands onto those Pop and Cut dies.  I have decided that all my cards will be interactive because I want my grand kids to get excited when they get a card from me.  Huge goal I know.  I am hoping Pop and Cuts will make it that much easier.

I have learned so much from Karen Burniston and I just want to learn more.  She posted this awesome card idea using her Bigz Flip up Flower and Celebrate Sizzlet set.

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day In honor of all my friends who have loved ones pass to protect this great land for us!
I have never been able to think of the day as one of mourning; I have never quite been able to feel that half-masted flags were appropriate on Decoration Day. I have rather felt that the flag should be at the peak, because those whose dying we commemorate rejoiced in seeing it where their valor placed it. We honor them in a joyous, thankful, triumphant commemoration of what they did.

Weekly Layouts

With so much on my plate these days it seems my blog has been pushed to the back burner. We finally got our POS System and installing it and getting all the data in has been both exciting and challenging. Everyday we get a little closer to having it done. My hat goes off to my son Derek. He works long hours installing and repairing garage doors and yet he still comes to Scrapp'n Savvy to work on the POS System. I owe a huge thanks to Amy, Aunt Paula, Mary, Alec, and mom for their constant work on getting everything counted and into the computer. At the pace they are working we should be done by the beginning of next week. Here are the past three weekly layouts.

I designed this layout using the Bo-Bunny Vicki B line. Each kit come with a full pack of chipboard embellishment and rub-ons. It was fun working with these bright colors

Leslie this adorable mother's day layout using a We R Memory Keepers spring line. I love the precious pictures of her grandson learning to walk.

Tove's also did an amazing job using the Vintage line from We R Memory Keepers. We still have a few of these kits available for purchase. Happy Scrapp'n
